  • My thoughts on Album recording

I will just write my thoughts on how Album Recording should work in my eyes. I wouldn't be dissapointed if it doesn't turn out this way, but it's easier to write my complete idea than to explain it some other way.

Let's imagine a band with four members, a guitarist, a guitarist/singer, a drummer and a base player. To record an album with the band you have to chose the number of songs, the studio and the timeframe as in MWR 2. But in my idea you don't select writers and producers but instead select all the personal that is supposed to participate in the recording. So obviously, your whole band would be selected by default, but you could additionally ask producers and members of different bands. After you done that you get into the album creator:

Instead of editing the songs at the end, my version would allow the player to edit the songs before the recording. The main screen would consist of a list of the songs with fields to select the name, theme and length. The last one would be a button to select the personel for the specific song. If you click on that button, you get into the song personel editor. There are some roles that have to be used, in my example Songwriter, Producer, Singer, Guitarist, Guitarist, Base and Drums. But you can bring in other musicians to play keyboards or play the guitar isntead the singer/guitar player. You can also individually select the writers for every song (for example if you have 1 great writer and two good ones. Instead of having them all do the same you could give the first guy the most work). Producers and guest musicians would have a fee per song.

Again, I guess the work is already to far to change to much, just take away what you want.

another thing that would be good would to choose if the song is an uptempo, a ballad, a "summer hit" kind of song, up beat, mid tempo...
