    40 - 2031 - 64% Metacritic

40 is the 9th studio album by Peruvian-born American recording artist Jaguar. It's release is scheduled for release on September 2, 2031. Jaguar executive-produced and wrote the entire album on her own. Looking to follow the success of her previous two albums, Jaguar stated that she would continue using strictly Hip Hop music throughout the album.

In November 2028, Jaguar released her eighth studio album, Twilight Jungle, which critics noted as one of her best records to date and appreciated the lack of dance music featured in her previous albums. During 2029 & early 2030 Jaguar embarked on The Twilight Tour, which was successful worldwide. On the final date of the tour, Jaguar announced her ninth album as well as a continuation of her Vegas residency show.

In August 2030, Jaguar stated that the writing process had begun for the project and that there would be no artists featured on the album, as she wanted it to be her "most personal record". The only studio Jaguar has been spotted in is Abbey Road Studios, London. In August, Jaguar stated that the album is "a story; from start to finish," and that she's "been experimenting with new styles of Hip Hop". She made it clear that the album "will steer clear of mainstream sound and will not be radio-friendly music", ensuring her fans of her departure from a mainstream sound.

The first single from the record, titled 'Sometimes', was released on April 22, 2031, going number one in all territories except Asia, where it peaked at number 3. Despite Tamboli's previous comments, the song is an acoustic R&B/Hip Hop ballad, with a sung hook and rapped verses. The vocals are extremely soft, almost whisper-like. Lyrically, the song discusses issues of dangerous, almost suicidal thoughts, that sometimes come up after a harsh breakup or traumatic event. The song was promoted with performances at the PCAs, AMAs, BBMAs & the BET Awards as well as several festival performances worldwide.

The second single from the album was released on June 11, 2031, and is titled "Not Mine". The single debuted in the Top 10 of most global markets, going number 1 in Canada and Latin America. The song is a Trap/Hip Hop breakup anthem which is mainly sung, with a rapped verse before the song ends. Lyrically, the song talks about not feeling any guilt for a boy who is upset about a breakup he caused. The single was performed in a Jaguar hits medley at the BET Awards as well as at several worldwide festivals.

The third single from the album was released on October 7, 2031. The song is titles 'Scared of Lonely' and explores the ideas of depression and absolute isolation after a traumatic breakup or toxic relationship.

The fourth single from the record, titled 'Squeeze', was released on November 18, 2031. The release was rushed after 'Scared of Lonely' experienced an initial under performance in the US.

On January 26, 2032, the fifth single from the album was released, titled 'Bitch Ass'.

The album's sixth single 'Tears of Joy' was released on April 14, 2032.

The seventh and final single from the record, Wasii (my house in Quechuan), was released on September 8, 2032.

On the chart issued on February 6 - 27 & March 6 - 13 of 2032, Jaguar became the first female rapper to occupy the top 2 spots on the Billboard chart with solo singles, with the singles 'Squeeze' and 'Scared of Lonely'. On the chart dated March 6, Jaguar also became the first female rapper to have 3 singles as a lead artist charting in the Top 10 simultaneously with the singles 'Squeeze' (#1), 'Scared of Lonely' (#2) and 'Bitch Ass' (#10). On March 20, the singles 'Squeeze' (#1), 'Scared of Lonely' (#3), and 'Bitch Ass' (#8) charted simultaneously in the Top 10 for a second week.

In August of 2031, it was announced that the release of the album had been brought forwards to September 2, 2031. Jaguar also announced that the Anytime World Tour would commence in Europe throughout September and October, with a North American leg following in 2032. In February of 2032, Jaguar headlined the Pepsi Superbowl Halftime Show, where she performed a medley of her hits including 'Sometimes' and 'Squeeze'.

As of December 25, 2032, the album has sold 1 Million copies in the US.
